Lisette Oropesa, the queen of bel canto, pays tribute to the great Italian bel canto composers who have made her famous and admired throughout the world: Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini, with a selection of arias from works such as I puritani, L’elisir d’amore, Don Pasquale and La straniera, alongside pieces by Meyerbeer. Once again at Les Arts, following her superb Manon and her first recital, the American-Spanish diva will be accompanied in this lyrical gala by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana under the direction of distinguished specialist in this repertoire, Italian conductor Corrado Rovaris, a precise, elegant and vibrant baton familiar to the world’s great opera houses and for twenty seasons Music Director of Opera Philadelphia.
