The sensational Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen returns to Les Arts for the third time with a Wagner concert under the baton of Sir Mark Elder leading the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana. The highlight of the evening is the ending of Die Walküre, in which she performs the tormented Brünnhilde for the first time, ahead of her debut in the role at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2027. Joining her in this sublime scene is the most acclaimed Wotan of recent seasons, British baritone Christopher Maltman, whose rich and expressive voice, together with his mastery of lieder, blends perfectly with the brilliance and power of Davidsen’s instrument. He will also partner her in the Salzburg production.
