Lawrence Brownlee is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest Rossinian voices of our time. His Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, staged for Les Arts by Laurent Pelly, displayed extraordinary vocal elegance, virtuosity and emotion. The unstoppable career of the American tenor, who has triumphed as Almaviva, Ramiro and Edgardo at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Vienna and Paris, has also found an intimate outlet in recital performance. Within the chamber format, the charismatic artist approaches with natural ease —through the elegance of bel canto and his refined technique— beautiful songs by Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and Verdi that highlight both his interpretative gifts and the beauty of his vocal timbre, as heard in this recital accompanied at the piano by Giulio Zappa.
