RANCAPINO CHICO
RANCAPINO CHICO
Some people are born with flamenco in their blood, and Rancapino Chico is one of them. Alonso Núñez Fernández grew up in Chiclana de la Frontera listening to and learning from his father, the master Rancapino, within the deepest traditions of the Cádiz school. He made his debut at the Gran Teatro Falla alongside Paco Cepero and Juan Habichuela, and in 2017 released Por mi amor al arte, recorded live. The album entered El País’ list of the five best albums of the year and earned him a Latin Grammy nomination. Martinetes, seguiriyas, soleares… pure cante jondo stripped of unnecessary ornament, with the unmistakable duende that Rancapino possesses.
