Álvaro Albiach, in his third time leading the OCV, which he previously directed in 2014 and 2017, premieres Sorolla breve suite, composed by Juan José Colomer based on the music of his ballet Sorolla, created for the National Ballet of Spain. A prelude to the Sorolla centenary, celebrated in 2023, it illustrates the famous Vision of Spain collection that the Valencian painter created for the Hispanic Society of New York. Bizet also extracted a suite from the incidental music written for *L’Arlésienne*, in which he recreates melodies from the popular folklore of Provence, France, such as the famous March of the Kings that opens *Suite No. 1*. In the second part of the concert, the OCV focuses on the dramatic atmosphere of Dvořák's *Symphony No. 7*, a masterpiece by the composer—moving, tremendously expressive, and one of the most important in the entire symphonic repertoire.
