Harmonia del Parnàs & Bruno de Sá
The Valencian ensemble Harmonia del Parnàs, directed by Marian Rosa Montagut, presents a unique event: internationally acclaimed Brazilian sopranist Bruno de Sá performing, for the first time, a programme devoted to Spanish Baroque music. The theme of the programme is love according to José de Nebra (1702-1768), one of the finest composers of the 18th century, organist of the Royal Chapel and the Descalzas Reales, whose music travelled as far as Guatemala and Mexico, preserving works now lost in Spain. In the first half of the concert, Bruno de Sá performs female roles in their original tessitura. He will then give voice —for the first time in modern times— to male characters originally written for soprano, roles sung in Farinelli’s day by the great castrati.
