The Main Hall of Les Arts hosts what has been described as La Veronal’s “darkest and most introspective creation,” La mort i la primavera. Its choreographer and artistic director, the internationally acclaimed Marcos Morau, conceives the piece as a disturbing fantasy of images, gestures and bodies that delves into the subconscious of Mercè Rodoreda’s most enigmatic and radically symphonic novel. Premiered to overwhelming success at the 2025 Venice Biennale, the striking production is “as sinister as one of Goya’s Black Paintings and as solemn as a requiem mass.” It is another milestone in Morau’s career, following recent works such as Sonoma, Opening Night and Afanador.
