Valencia (2.2.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía resumes its 'Lied' cycle in 2024 with the highly anticipated debut of Ermonela Jaho, the operatic diva of the moment, who will sing in the Main Hall this Sunday, February 4, accompanied by Rubén Fernández Aguirre on piano.
The Albanian soprano proposes a suggestive program, in which she intersperses pieces from her acclaimed album 'Anima rara', with which she explores the music of Rosina Storchio, one of the most charismatic sopranos of verismo, with pages from renowned bel canto authors and the most representative composers of French and Italian romanticism.
Arias from titles such as 'La bohème' by Leoncavallo, 'Siberia' by Giordano or 'Iris' by Mascagni, will share the spotlight with works by Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi, Gounod, Massenet, Poulenc and Viardot, with a nod to the Spanish repertoire with a selection of 'Six Ballads' by Albéniz, in a unique evening, in which the Valencian public will be able to enjoy for the first time Ermonela Jaho's overwhelming ability to transmit and move in each of her interpretations.
Ovations in London, Paris, New York, Munich, Berlin, Madrid… the Albanian diva has also received the highest praise from specialized critics. Her beautiful voice, technical mastery, and exquisite acting skills are the credentials that have made her an indispensable artist in the leading theaters on the circuit, in addition to being considered the definitive interpreter of two of the great operatic heroines: Violetta Valéry ('La traviata') and Cio-cio-san ('Madama Butterfly').
Tickets for Ermonela Jaho's recital can be purchased through the usual Les Arts channels for a starting price of 30 euros.
