THE ARTS IS OTHER MUSIC_

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía inaugurates its cycle dedicated to world music , Les Arts és Altres Músiques, this Thursday, November 27, with a visit from Chucho Valdés, the great legend of Afro-Cuban jazz, who presents his latest and award-winning release, Cuba & Beyond , in a single concert at the Auditori (7:30 p.m.).

The renowned composer and pianist, who this month received the 2025 Latin Grammy for best jazz album for that work, comes to Les Arts solo, at the piano, to review more than six decades of music: an intimate recital, in which his keyboard invites you to share habaneras, Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz standards and his own compositions that are already part of history.

The son of the legendary Bebo Valdés and founder of Irakere, a pivotal group that revolutionized Latin jazz and won the first Grammy for a Cuban band, Chucho Valdés is one of the great architects of Latin jazz. Winner of seven Grammys and six Latin Grammys, he has been honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Latin Recording Academy.

In addition, he is part of the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame and, recently, has been named NEA Jazz Master 2025 , the highest recognition that the United States gives to living jazz musicians.

Tickets for Chuco Valdés' concert this Thursday at Les Arts can be purchased through the theater's various sales channels: box office, the sales line 96 197 59 00 and the Les Arts website.
