Valencia (11.6.2011).- The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía has established a discount program for young people and members of Musical Societies for the concert-show 'Trilogia romana' which brings together the veteran maestro Georges Prêtre and La Fura dels Baus on June 17, 18 and 19.

Holders of the Youth Card will receive a 50% discount. Tickets must be purchased at the arts center's box office, and the discount is applied upon presentation of the Youth Card. Each young person may purchase a maximum of four discounted tickets for the same performance day.

Likewise, all members of affiliated Music Societies, as well as groups of 15 or more spectators organized by these societies, will also benefit from a 50% discount on the ticket price. CAC club members also enjoy this discount on tickets for 'Trilogia Romana'.

The program of 'Trilogia romana' is composed of the three symphonic poems by Respighi: Feste romane , Fontane di Roma and Pini di Roma , set in the streets and squares of the eternal city, in which the Bolognese author resided from 1913, when he was appointed principal conductor of the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.

Carlus Padrissa and La Fura dels Baus return to the Valencian arts center to stage this production, which incorporates video creations by French filmmaker and photographer Emmanuel Carlier. Prêtre and La Fura dels Baus reunite in Valencia after their successful 1997 production of Claude Debussy's Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien at the Rome Opera House.

Georges Prêtre (Waziers, France, 1924) became in 2008 the oldest conductor to take charge of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's traditional New Year's concert, a feat he repeated in 2010. He is also the only Frenchman who is part of the select group of conductors who have raised the baton in the Wiener Musikverein in the Austrian capital, among whom are also Lorin Maazel, music director of the Palau de les Arts, and Zubin Mehta, president of the Festival del Mediterrani.

Maestro Prêtre has collaborated with the greatest singers of the 20th century, being Maria Callas's favorite conductor.
