< This marks the Centre de Perfeccionament's second international foray in 2014, following the premiere of Scarlatti's opera Narciso this summer in Austria

Valencia. The Plácido Domingo Centre for Advanced Studies presents the show Romancero gitano on December 28, 29, and 30 at the Teatro Baretti in Turin. This is the Centre's second performance outside of Spain, following the success this summer of Scarlatti's Narciso in Innsbruck, Austria.

Last June, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía premiered Federico García Lorca's Romancero gitano , in a transcription for narrator, vocal quartet, and guitar by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. The performance, directed by Davide Livermore and with musical direction by Brian Cole, Dean of Berklee College of Music, was part of the program for the 7th Festival del Mediterrani.

The production of Romancero Gitano , a collaboration between the Centre de Perfeccionament and Berklee College of Music, featured Rossy de Palma as the exceptional narrator at its premiere in Valencia, along with the artists of the Centre de Perfeccionament.

The popular actress lends her voice again to recite in Turin the poems of García Lorca, which are sung by the artists of the new promotion of the Centre, Aleksey Bogdanov, Christian Collia, Chiara Osella and Miriam Zubieta accompanied by the guitar of Luis María Regidor Paín.

The Plácido Domingo Centre for Advanced Studies has a busy schedule for the 2014-2015 season. The singers, who combine their training with roles in opera productions in the Main Hall, have their own program of activities at the Teatre Martín i Soler.

On January 27, 2015, the artists of the Centre celebrated Mozart's birthday with the production 'What Are Clouds?', a concert-performance inspired by the episode 'Cosa sono le nuvole ' by filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Juan Luis Martínez, from Valencia, conducted the musical direction of this show, with stage direction by Davide Livermore. The program consisted of excerpts from Mozart's operas: Così fan tutte , Don Giovanni , Le nozze di Figaro , and Die Zauberflöte.

Also, the Teatre Martín i Soler will host Domenico Scarlatti's Narcissus at the end of May 2015, a co-production of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía with the Innsbruck Early Music Festival (Austria). Davide Livermore, stage director of this production, once again emphasizes the revival of works outside the traditional repertoire with this opera, which features Valencian conductor Juan Luis Martínez on the podium. Narcissus by Domenico Scarlatti will be performed on May 22, 28, and 31, with an educational performance on May 25.
