The Palau de les Arts has received visits from more than 2,000 students in the six educational performances it has programmed of Mozart's 'Bastià i Bastiana'.

Les Arts has presented a lighthearted production of Mozart's first opera at the Teatre Martín i Soler for students from over 35 primary and secondary schools in the Valencian Community. This is the same production that has toured various squares throughout the region, thanks to the collaboration of the Valencia City Council and the Provincial Council, aboard the Les Arts Volant mobile theater.

In addition, the arts center has scheduled another performance of 'Bastià i Bastiana' for today, Saturday, but aimed at a family audience, which will also fill the hall to capacity as all tickets have been sold.

'Bastià i Bastiana' is a Les Arts production, based on Enedina Lloris's adaptation of the libretto into Valencian. Davide Livermore directs the production, with costumes by José María Adame, lighting by Antonio Castro, and piano accompaniment by Aïda Bousselma.

Artists from the tenth graduating class of the Centre Plácido Domingo alternate the leading and supporting roles added in this new production: Moisés Marín, Vicent Romero, Annya Pinto, Giorgia Rotolo, David Cervera, Pau Armengol and Arturo Espinosa, in addition to the newly created character, Patró, played by the actor Sergio Gil.

Its simple plot, along with its shorter runtime of less than an hour and the vibrant and engaging stage adaptation, make 'Bastià i Bastiana' an effective educational tool for discovering opera. The Valencian translation, in addition to the use of contemporary expressions and idioms, allows students to approach the genre with greater familiarity.
