Gustavo Gimeno returns to the Palau de les Arts to conduct Stravinsky's 'Petrushka' and 'Le sacre du printemps'
04.03.2020
Gustavo Gimeno directs the works 'Petrushka' and 'Le sacre du summer', by Igor Stravinski, at the Auditori of the Palau de les Arts, on March 7, in the section of the program 'Les Arts és Simfònic'.
The Valencian director returns to the Arts after new months, when he will start the symphonic season with Mahler's 'Ninth Symphony', which will exhaust all the venues. On this occasion, he conducted the Russian repertoire for the first time at the Auditori, in a new collaboration with the Valencian Community Orchestra.
Currently, Gustavo Gimeno is musical director of the Luxembourg Philharmonic and starting with the 2020-2020 season and for a period of five years, he will assume the title of the Toronto Symphony, and has become the first Valencian to accept the task of conducting a large orchestra in North America.
The Palau de les Arts programs at the Auditori two reference works in the ballet repertoire: 'Petrushka', in its first release in 1947, and 'Le sacre du printemps', the two compositions by Igor Stravinsky, precisely in the month in which the National Dance Company premieres 'Carmen'.
The concert, which takes place this Saturday at the Auditori de les Arts at 7:00 p.m., has prices ranging between 30 and 45 euros.
Gustavo Gimeno will also visit the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana at the Auditori and Palau de Congressos de Castelló with this program scheduled for March 8 starting at 7:30 p.m.
