Valencia (01.07.20). The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) closes the 'Torna a Les Arts' cycle with a Beethoven monograph under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock on July 15 at 8:00 p.m. in the Main Hall.

The resident orchestra of Les Arts thus joins the celebrations of the Beethoven Year with a program that includes his works 'Fidelio Overture, op. 72' and symphonies number 6 and 8 in the first concert in symphonic format that it has offered since the establishment of the new normal.

The performance also marks the debut with the OCV of German conductor Thomas Hengelbrock, considered one of the most versatile and captivating conductors of his generation. Particularly renowned for his historically informed performances of Baroque music, his repertoire ranges from 17th-century works to contemporary pieces, encompassing all genres.

Les Arts has already put tickets on sale for this concert, which have a single price of 20 euros for the general public and 10 euros for subscribers.

In accordance with the new situation, Les Arts will increase the sales capacity to 75% of the number of seats in the hall, with the essential requirement for the attending public to use a mask throughout the show, as well as in the common areas.

Likewise, the rest of the safety protocols will be maintained, such as temperature checks, controlled access and evacuation of the room, individual use of elevators and maintenance of interpersonal distance of 1.5 meters, in addition to the restricted use of the toilets.

Granada Festival

Two days after his concert at Les Arts, Thomas Hengelbrock will perform with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana at the Granada Music and Dance Festival with the same program.

The prestigious competition, celebrating its 69th edition this year, is the first major musical event in Spain under the new normal. This year's edition is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth.

The concert, which will take place on July 17 at 10:00 p.m. in the Palace of Charles V, also marks the return of the OCV to the program of the renowned festival, in which it last performed in 2011 under the direction of Zubin Mehta.
