Valencia (13.11.20). José Mercé inaugurates this Saturday, November 14, the second edition of the 'Les Arts és flamenco' cycle, which will feature some of the most emblematic artists of flamenco singing throughout the 2020-2021 Season.

The Auditori of the Palau de les Arts welcomes tomorrow, at 9:00 p.m., the Jerez-born artist, a true mass phenomenon of the genre, with a show in which he will perform a repertoire with the most classic flamenco styles, in which some of his greatest hits will also be included.

With 18 albums released since his debut in 1968, José Mercé is considered the most well-known living flamenco singer among the general public, capable of transcending the flamenco audience to reach pop lovers.

In his more than 50-year career, the singer of 'Del amanecer' and 'Aire' has maintained the pure essence of flamenco singing and mixed it with flamenco versions of Manu Chao, Luis Eduardo Aute, Víctor Jara, Louis Armstrong, Pablo Milanés, the Pop Tops and Joan Manuel Serrat, to position himself as a key artist in Spanish music.

He was recently awarded a Diamond Disc for selling over one million records throughout his career, a feat that no other artist in the genre had achieved to date.

Les Arts reminds everyone that José Mercé's concert this Saturday at the Auditori will begin at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are priced between 34 and 50 euros.
