Valencia (18.11.21). Ute Lemper brings back to the Palau de les Arts the essence of the German cabaret from the 20th to the 20th with the show 'Rendezvous with Marlene', which will be offered this day, November 21st, at 9pm at the Auditori within the cycle 'Les Arts és Altres Músiques'.
Accompanied by an instrumental group, the German singer and actress pays tribute to this proposal to her compatriot Marlene Dietrich, icon of sound cinema and the natural essence of the cabaret between wars, with a journey through the trajectory of the interpreter of 'L'àngel blau' from the six years of cabaret to Berlin at the end of the year. The seues col·laboracions with Burt Bacharach.
The spectacle, as the German diva explains, stemmed from an ongoing telephone conversation between her and Marlene Dietrich in Paris in 1988. On that date, a novella Ute, after receiving the French Molière Prize for her performance in 'Cabaret' in Paris, sent the diva a postcard apologizing for the press comparisons, which equate the young artist with the legendary actress.
During the three hours of telephone calls, Ute, who was at the beginning of her career, escorts the interpreter of 'Lily Marleen' to recover unique moments of her prolific and unparalleled career, full of films, music, incredible characters and stories of love and fame. 180 minutes to escort Marlene to talk about her career, her work and style, her devotion to Rilke, her complicated relationship with Germany, her pain and her fascinations.
Six days after Ute Lemper debuted in the role of Lola in the production 'L'àngel blau' in Berlin in 1992 - the role that made Dietrich a star in 1928 -, Marlene died in Paris.
In 'Rendezvous with Marlene', Lemper tells in songs the story of Marlene Dietrich during all the chapters of her life. On stage they are accompanied by music of extraordinary quality, with the pianist Vana Gierig and the violinist Cyril Garac, together with Romain Lecuyer on double bass and Matthias Daneck on drums.
Les Arts reminds you that tickets for this concert have a price between 28 and 40 euros.
Les Arts és Altres Músiques
With the cycle 'Les Arts és Altres Músiques', Les Arts seeks to offer the broadest vision of vocal music, and includes proposals and styles that, per seua naturala, have been little present in the theater's programming today. In this way, fado, jazz, have come together with other currents of global music through its most notable performers.
On the occasion of the capitol dedicated to 'jazz', the Auditori will reopen on June 22nd with the visit of a live performance of a genre with North American guitarist Pat Metheny, in addition to many live performances, an incommensurable album arrival and winner of Grammy Awards in its favor.
