Valencia (7.4.22). The Palau de les Arts will offer a live stream of Verdi's 'Macbeth' on April 10 at 7.00 pm in 35 municipalities and musical societies of the Valencian Community, an activity that closes the Verdi Marathon.
In this way, Les Arts maintains its commitment to streaming as a backbone of its programming so that opera and its entire musical offering transcend the walls of the Calatrava building and reach every corner of the Valencian territory.
Jesús Iglesias Noriega, artistic director of Les Arts, has expressed his gratitude for the interest and response of the participating city councils and musical societies "in joining the actions of opening up and territorializing Les Arts" within the institution's commitment to ensuring that every citizen finds their place in the cultural center's programming.
In this regard, Iglesias Noriega noted that “these types of activities will continue in the coming months with a new edition of the regional tour 'Les Arts amb Tu' with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and the artists of the Centre de Perfeccionament as cultural ambassadors.”
As the artistic director explained, 'Macbeth' is one of the artistic cornerstones of the season. Composed by Giuseppe Verdi during his time as a prisoner of war, the opera, based on the play of the same name by William Shakespeare, would be a prelude to such landmark successes as 'Rigoletto', 'Il trovatore' and 'La traviata'.
Considered one of the masterpieces of his repertoire, this title already distinguishes Verdi's taste for the deepest shadows of the soul and the most confused lights of human consciousness.
Michele Mariotti, one of the great Italian conductors, is in charge of the musical direction of the powerful portrayal of ambition in Lord and Lady Macbeth, performed by baritone Luca Salsi and soprano Anna Pirozzi.
Benedict Andrews, in the stage direction, focuses on a careful and demanding acting direction that accentuates the most violent profile of the sinister marriage for this Royal Danish Opera production, with set design by Ashley Martin-Davis, costumes by Victoria Behr, lighting by Jon Clark and choreographic movement direction by Ran Braun.
The broadcast of 'Macbeth' is the last of the 37 activities that Les Arts, together with Turisme de la Comunitat Valenciana, has orchestrated around the figure of the composer from Busseto in the Verdi Marathon: a complete calendar made up of concerts, recitals, opera, colloquiums, cinema, workshops, gastronomic menus and meetings in the three provinces of our geography.
