- The American singer is the most successful soprano to have been part of the Centre de Perfeccionament de Les Arts
- Recognized as one of the great stars of opera, she is praised by audiences and critics alike for her versatility, sensitivity, and the beauty of her voice.
Valencia (3.6.25). American soprano Angel Blue offers a journey from late Romantic Lied through jazz, contemporary music and African American spirituals in her highly anticipated recital this Sunday, June 7, in the Main Hall (7.00 p.m.), which culminates the seventh edition of the Les Arts és Lied cycle.
Angel Blue, who began her career in Valencia as a member of the first promotions of the Centre de Perfeccionament de Les Arts and who went on to sing Micaëla in Carmen with Zubin Mehta, is currently one of the favorite sopranos of the Big Five , the five great opera houses of the world (New York, Milan, London, Vienna and Paris).
Fifteen years after her last performance in the Main Hall, the Los Angeles singer, accompanied on piano by Bryan Wagorn, proposes a program with which to discover all the attributes that have elevated her as one of the great stars of current opera: the beauty of her voice, her versatility and exquisite technique, as well as a moving sensitivity that transcends the stage.
The soprano will dedicate the first part of the evening to essential composers of the late Romantic repertoire: Gabriel Fauré and Sergei Rachmaninoff, which will also include a small anthology of Richard Strauss with such significant pieces as Morgen! and Allerseelen .
After the break, the Californian singer will delve into her roots and musical identity, with nods to jazz and musical theatre in I Wonder What Became of Me , From Harold Arlen's Our Love is Here to Stay by George Gershwin and Kurt Weill's Youkali , to the lyricism of Lee Hoiby's songs, to conclude with the emotion and expressiveness of some of the classic African American spirituals.
Les Arts reminds everyone that tickets for the Angel Blue recital can be purchased through the theater's various sales channels: box offices, the sales line 96 197 59 00 and the official Les Arts website.
