Program

The young Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński has burst onto the international opera scene like a meteor. His daily activities are closely followed by thousands of fans on social media, both those who admire him for his breakdancing skills and those who venerate him as a Baroque opera singer. Hailed as a leading figure among the new generation of countertenors, this charismatic artist, trained at the Juilliard School in New York, has already recorded his first album of arias, Anima Sacra , and was awarded the Gramophone Award for Best Young Artist in 2019. It is no surprise that ensembles such as Les Musiciens du Louvre, conducted by Marc Minkowski, and Il Pomo d'Oro have invited him to join their international tours. In his debut at Les Arts, he performs a selection of pieces by Baroque composers such as Purcell and Handel, as well as works by Schubert and Polish composers, accompanied on the piano by Michał Biel.
