VICENTE SOTO "SORDERA" & LELA SOTO
Antonio Malena, Vicente Santiago (guitars)
Manuel Blanco, Ángel Peña (handclaps and jaleos)
The stage of the Teatre Martín i Soler brings together the acclaimed artist from the Jerez district of Santiago, Vicente Soto 'Sordera', with his daughter Lela Soto, for a family flamenco evening. Vicente, a descendant of an endless line of singers, has spread his family’s art across the five continents on a multitude of tours, on stages such as La Scala in Milan or the Theatre des Nations in Paris, and through collaborations with artists such as Antonio Ruiz “El Bailarín”, Manuela Vargas and Antonio Gades. His daughter Lela, considered “a 21st Century cantaora” who anticipates the flamenco of tomorrow, has gone from a young promise to an established artist in a short time. The legacy of Los Sordera is in her blood (her grandfather Manuel, her father Vicente and her mother, the dancer Luisa Heredia). She has enriched it with more modern contributions. Her voice has caught the attention of artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Pitingo and Niña Pastori, who have performed with her on tours and recordings.
