Introducción
REYES CARRASCO
Pastora en mi memoria
Reyes Carrasco began to sing when she was only two years old, before she could speak. She is the most precocious cantaora in living memory and has already received several awards. Born in Los Palacios y Villafranca (Seville), she descends from a line of renowned cantaores, among them her mother, María José Carrasco, who shared the stage with artists such as José Mercé, Chano Lobato and La Paquera de Jerez. In Reyes Carrasco’s first album, Cantes de Reyes, the old cantes predominates, as a faithful portrayal of the character and enriching experience that the artist has accumulated despite her youth. They are interpreted with the fresh touch that flamenco needs to speak to the young generations. In this concert entitled “Pastora en mi memoria”, she pays tribute to Pastora Pavón, “La Niña de los Peines”, through some of her songs.
