Antonio Manuel Álvarez Vélez, Pitingo, was born in Ayamonte, Huelva, into a family with a strong flamenco tradition. From a young age, he combined his passion for flamenco with soul music, influenced by legends such as Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles. This fusion gave rise to his unique style, “soulería”. Pitingo has taken his art to international stages, such as Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, and has sung before figures such as Barack Obama. He has also collaborated with renowned artists in various genres. His albums include Soulería (2008) and Olé & Amén (2011). With a constantly evolving career, Pitingo continues to explore new musical paths, thrilling audiences and keeping the essence of his “soulería” alive.
