Christian Gerhaher

Christian Gerhaher is the great Lieder singer of our time. Following in the footsteps of his compatriots Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, he has an extensive repertoire of composers, particularly German composers: Mahler, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss and Wolf. He has a lyrical, velvety baritone voice and a remarkable ability to concentrate on his performance in order to bring out the full beauty of the poetry and music. In his previous appearances in Valencia, critics have highlighted his sensitivity, exemplary diction and phrasing, and his masterful nuance. On this occasion, he will perform a select monographic programme dedicated to Schubert, accompanied on the piano by Gerold Huber.
