In a world where time can be borrowed but never bought, Gracias a la Vida invites us to walk beside a person who would trade their soul for one more chance to feel young and alive.Inspired by both the original novel by Goethe and Gounod’s Faust, this new production created by Berklee Valencia students and faculty conjures the shimmering ache of existence — its hungers, ecstasies, regrets, and fleeting joys.
Joining the Berklee Community on and off the stage is composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and comedian Juan Andrés Ospina, who transforms a stage full of instruments into an endless playground. With a heart as much in the soil as in the stars, the performance dances between light and shadow, between what we desire, and what we truly need. This is no moral tale — but a human one: where grief and laughter are kin, where shame is surrendered to clarity, and where we are reminded — tenderly, irrevocably — that our only task is to live, and to taste, before the final hush.
