The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía already has a total of 25 sponsors who have brought the coliseum an income of 3.5 million euros for its first season 2006-2007.
The sponsors who have signed business collaboration agreements with the Palau de les Arts come from a wide and varied spectrum of sectors; from the most traditional such as food, ceramics, furniture to others such as banking, leisure, hospitality, electricity, port and highway management, aviation, or even economic and financial advice, among others.
According to Luis Lobón, regional secretary for Events and Projects, “the Palau de les Arts has already become, at the start of its first season, a cultural and architectural landmark that attracts private and social initiatives and a large number of fans and music lovers to its shows.”
New sponsors
A sign of the growing interest of private enterprise in the Palau de les Arts is that the officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance are holding negotiations with several entities from different sectors that could soon result in new sponsorship agreements for the first season.
The Palau de les Arts Foundation's patronage program is designed to encourage private funding for the activities undertaken and, at the same time, to promote the direct participation of the business world in the project and its management.
To facilitate collaboration among companies and organizations, the Palau de les Arts Foundation has designed a comprehensive sponsorship program based on four categories: sponsors, patrons, benefactors, and suppliers. This structure allows for economic and financial support from companies, individuals, groups, associations, foundations, institutions, and other national and international public bodies.
The regional secretary for Events and Projects, Luis Lobón, says that “the sponsorship program of the Palau de les Arts facilitates the dissemination of culture by private entities through the activities of the coliseum and at the same time allows private initiatives to associate their image with an institution of great national and international projection.
Likewise, the sponsors, through their participation in the Foundation, have an important role in the artistic life of the Valencian coliseum and in defining the project.
Bancaja, main sponsor
Last July, Bancaja became the main sponsor of the Valencian theater with the signing of an agreement between the president of the Valencian financial entity, José Luis Olivas, and the Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment and president of the Executive Committee of the Palau de les Arts-Fundació de la Comunitat Valenciana, Gerardo Camps.
The group of protectors includes Grupo Roig, Casino Mediterráneo, Nefinsa, Onofre Miguel, Lladró, the Port Authority, Iberdrola and Grupo Boluda.
The benefactors were Cleop, Rover Alcisa, Acciona, Aumar, Parsi, Secopsa, Gaes (Valencian Institute for Deafness), Llanera, Price Waterhouse and Pavasal.
Mercedes Benz, Vinos Denominación de Origen Valencia and Jamondul are the official suppliers, while Punt Mobles acts as a supplier.
For their part, the companies Clemente Pianos and Suite Juan Carlos Ferrero are collaborators of the Operalia competition.
