Valencia (13.2.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía inaugurates the 'Les Arts és Flamenco' cycle program in 2024 with a performance by José Enrique Morente Carbonell, Kiki Morente, this Friday, February 16, at 7.30 p.m., in the Teatre Martín i Soler.

The son of Enrique Morente, one of the great innovators of the genre, and the dancer Aurora Carbonell, and brother of Estrella and Soleá Morente, the youngest of the Morente family is flamenco in its purest form. He embodies the essence of the family legacy: the purest commitment to tradition and an untiring avant-garde spirit, which made Enrique Morente one of the pillars of cante jondo (deep song).

Since his promising solo debut in 2017 with 'Albayzín', a tribute to his native neighborhood and the Granada accent, Kiki Morente has enjoyed a meteoric rise in his career, which has been consolidated with the release of his second album, 'El cante' (2021). In it, the youngest of the family makes his debut as a composer and writer of some of the songs, offering a flamenco that bridges the gap between the most classic and authentic art and a more contemporary and electronic style.

In his performance this Friday at the Teatre Martín i Soler of Les Arts, Kiki Morente will be accompanied by Yerai Cortés (guitar), Los Mellis (backing vocals and handclaps) and Curro Conde (percussion).
