The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía sold out all available telephone subscriptions for its opera series within a week. This means that from today onwards, only subscriptions for the Great Soloists Series can be purchased by telephone.
85% of sales have occurred in the Valencian Community, primarily in Valencia and its metropolitan area. Nationally, after the Valencian Community, the next largest markets are Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, and neighboring regions such as Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.

Internationally, season ticket purchases have been registered in a total of 10 countries, mainly in Germany, USA, Austria, France, Italy and Great Britain, which demonstrates the worldwide interest aroused by the programming of the Palau de les Arts.

These figures exceed all initial expectations and reaffirm that the Palau de les Arts presents in its first season one of the most attractive and competitive opera offerings, in terms of price and quality, on the international circuit.

The Great Soloists Subscription Series features performances by some of the most virtuosic artists on the international operatic and symphonic scene. This series includes: a Lyric Recital by Waltraud Meier, Petra-Maria Schnitzer, Peter Seiffert, and Matti Salminen; a Symphonic Concert in Commemoration of Dmitri Shostakovich; a Recital by Barbara Frittoli; a Recital by Olga Borodina and Ildar Abdrazakov under the musical direction of Keri-Lynn Wilson; and a recital by the renowned tenor Juan Diego Flórez.

The Palau de les Arts also reminds everyone still interested in attending the various performances at the opera house that season tickets are still available at the box office from August 28 to September 5, and individual tickets will go on general sale from October 16. All relevant information can be found on the website: www.lesarts.com

A top-tier artistic program outside of the regular subscription series

The coliseum also reports that within the first 2006-2007 season there is a program outside of the subscription, consisting of symphonic concerts, recitals and other types of high artistic level shows and whose tickets will go on sale on October 16.

This non-subscription program (2006-2007) includes symphonic concerts by Lorin Maazel or Zubin Mehta; recitals by Daniel Barenboim; a Jazz Opera by Milos Forman; a Dance performance by Nacho Duato or musical theatre by Els Comediants, among other top-level shows.

In one week of telephone sales, a total of 172,761 calls were made to the phone number 902 100 032, including both initial calls and repeat calls. This unprecedented volume for the sale of season tickets and individual seats at an opera house has led to periods of phone line overload. The Palau de les Arts reiterates its apologies to the public for any inconvenience caused by this situation.
