The Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana, the resident orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, has already received several international offers to perform concerts in countries such as Russia and the USA. These tours will be finalized at the end of the current season at the Valencian opera house.
These proposals add to the commitment already made by the orchestra, which will travel on March 14 to the Teatro La Fenice in Venice to give a symphonic concert conducted by its musical director Lorin Maazel, in what will be the first international performance of the musical group.

While details and dates are still being finalized, the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana will perform two concerts in Moscow and one in St. Petersburg. These proposals originated at the concert last November at the Palau de les Arts, where Zubin Mehta conducted the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana with Daniel Barenboim as piano soloist. Following that concert, the orchestra's director, Helga Schmidt, received an offer from a prominent Moscow music representative.

The offer to tour the US came after the band's first rehearsals last September. It's worth noting that Lorin Maazel, the musical director, is an American citizen and enjoys a highly respected reputation as a conductor in the United States.

The intention of those in charge of the Palau de les Arts is for the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana to be a cultural ambassador for the Community and to visit the most important opera and musical theaters in the world and in Spain.

In this regard, the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana has already been conducted by renowned conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, and Maxim Shostakovich, all of whom have praised the musical qualities of the new ensemble. Likewise, prominent musicians such as Daniel Barenboim and Ignaz Solzhenitsyn have commended the sound of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Specifically, its director Lorin Maazel highlighted after the first rehearsals that a world-class orchestra had been formed, capable of competing with the best ensembles in the world.

The Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana comprises 91 principal musicians, 14 of whom are from Valencia. Establishing a top-tier orchestra is one of the fundamental objectives of the Palau de les Arts Foundation, aiming to achieve artistic excellence and attract the best conductors.
