The Palau de les Arts is offering two recitals this week by Valencian musicians as part of the Aula Magistral program. Specifically, Jordi Nogués will headline the recital on Thursday, March 1st, while Sandra Ferrández and Cristina Faus will perform on March 2nd.
Both concerts belong to the cycles New Values of the Valencian Keyboard and Valencian Voices in the 21st Century, which began last January in the coliseum.
These concert series feature exclusively some of the most prestigious Valencian singers and pianists, both in Spain and abroad. Through this initiative, the Palau de les Arts recognizes the long list of artists from the Valencian Community who have achieved success in the world's leading opera houses.
The two concerts, which will be held at 8:30 p.m., benefit from the coliseum's popular pricing policy with tickets at 10 euros for the piano recital, and 15 euros for the opera recital.
On the other hand, the recital scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, by Elena de la Merced and Miquel Ramón, has been cancelled. Singers and pianists from the Valencian Community
The Valencian pianist Jordi Nogués will offer the second concert of the cycle New Values of the Valencian Keyboard, in which the interpretation of fragments of themes from Iberia, by Albéniz, and Fantasia on Carmen by Georges Bizet/Ferrucio Buzón stands out, in addition to themes from Magenta.
Nogués, born in Carlet, has been awarded in numerous national and international competitions, such as the Ibiza International Piano Competition or the San Sebastián International Piano Competition.
The recital on Friday, March 2nd, will feature soprano Sandra Ferrández and mezzo-soprano Cristina Faus. The program includes a varied repertoire of works by Charles Gounod, Mahler, and Xavier Montsalvatge, among other composers.
Sandra Ferrández was born in Crevillent and studied singing with Ana Luisa Chova at the Valencia Conservatory. She recently sang at the Palau de les Arts in the premiere of Vicente Martín i Soler's L'isola del piacere.
Mezzo-soprano Cristina Faus won the Toti dal Monte competition in Treviso, debuting in the role of Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia. She has also performed with ensembles such as the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and boasts a broad vocal repertoire.
