The Minister of Culture and Sport, Trini Miró, has announced that the Valencian Community Orchestra will offer four concerts under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel on November 8th in Torrevieja, November 10th in Paterna, November 15th in Xàtiva, and November 17th in Alcoy. Miró described this tour as “magnificent news for music lovers who will be able to enjoy a top-level program closer to home.”
Miró pointed out that this announcement demonstrates her commitment, expressed during her first appearance before the Valencian Parliament, to bringing the artistic productions promoted by the Department of Culture to the entire Valencian Community. “This is an example of coordination, of how to ensure that all culture lovers can access top-quality cultural programming, an initiative that begins this time at the Palau de les Arts but will be extended to all other activities originating from the Department of Culture and Sport.”

The 1984 cast of singers is already rehearsing at the Palau de la Música, under the direction of Maestro Lorin Maazel. This group of top-level soloists includes Ian Greenlaw, Richard Margison, Nancy Gustafson, Iride Martínez, Lawrence Brownlee, Jeremy White, Michael Rice, Debora van Renterghem, Julian Tovey, and Mary Lloyd-Davies.

The program of the symphonic concerts will take a journey through musical works by universal authors such as Fidelio, by Beethoven; Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini, Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti and Salome, by Richard Strauss.

With these symphonic concerts, the Palau de les Arts gives residents of the Valencian Community the opportunity to appreciate the excellence of one of the greatest conductors of all time, Lorin Maazel, as well as the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and top-tier opera singers. This is an initiative that they intend to continue in the future.
