The Palau de les Arts resumes free ticket sales at the box office for the opera Carmen tomorrow, after the numbered ticket sales of the last two days which have brought together thousands of people and exceeded all expectations.
Carmen, a co-production of the Palau de les Arts with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, will be performed in seven shows on November 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14 and 18.

Box office sales for all seven performances will continue until all available tickets for the opening opera are sold. Fans will have another opportunity to purchase tickets for Carmen on the day of the performances, due to the legally mandated 5% reservation, which amounts to approximately 70 tickets per performance.

The Valencian coliseum continues these days the rehearsals of the inaugural opera in the Main Hall with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Cor de la Generalitat, the Escolania de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats, under the musical and stage direction of Lorin Maazel and Carlos Saura, respectively.

The dress rehearsal of Bizet's popular work is scheduled for November 4th.

Change in box office hours from November 5th

From November 5th, the box office hours at the Coliseum will change, and will be open from 12 noon to 8:30 pm. Until then, the hours will remain from 10 am to 6 pm.

Also, from November 6th, on public holidays with performances, the ticket offices will remain open three hours before the start of the performances.

The coliseum has expanded its discount policy on general ticket sales. Those eligible for the 35% discount include young people up to 30 years old, senior citizens, pensioners, and people with disabilities.

In addition, the coliseum maintains the "Last Minute" discount of 50% for all audiences and for any seat in the Main Hall, two hours before the start of each performance for sale at the box office.

The opening opera of the second season at the Valencian coliseum will be conducted by Lorin Maazel, while the stage direction will be handled by veteran director Carlos Saura, who years ago captured his cinematic vision of the cigarette girl myth.

This co-production will also star Russian soprano Julia Gertseva, who has previously performed this role at theaters such as La Scala in Milan. The cast is rounded out by an ensemble of internationally renowned artists, including Carlos Álvarez, who returns for his second consecutive year at the Valencian theater.
