Valencian singers Amparo Navarro and Javier Agulló, accompanied by Amparo Pous on piano, will offer a recital tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19, entitled “Around Verdi”, in which they will perform fragments of the Italian composer.
The program for the recital, which will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Aula Magistral of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, consists of arias and duets from the operas La Battaglia di Legnano, Il corsaro, Giovanna d'Arco, Ernani, I lombardi alla prima crociata and Don Carlo.

Soprano Amparo Navarro makes her debut at the Palau de les Arts with this recital, and will return to the opera house to sing the role of Diana in Iphigénie en Tauride. This production, which will premiere on December 3rd, will also feature tenor Plácido Domingo and soprano Violeta Urmana. Meanwhile, tenor Javier Agulló returns to the Valencian opera house after participating in productions of Fidelio, La Bohème, Don Carlo, Le dernier jour d'un condamné, and Turandot.

The recital is part of the "Verdi and Schiller: Romanticism" series, which revolves around performances of Luisa Miller. During the concert, the performers will present excerpts from Giovanna d'Arco and Don Carlo, operas that, like Luisa Miller, are based on dramas by Friedrich Schiller.
