BANCAJA RENEWS AS MAIN PATRON OF THE PALAU DE LES ARTS
24.03.2009
Valencia, April 24, 2009. – Bancaja once again becomes the main sponsor of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía Fundació de la Comunitat Valenciana through the signing of a collaboration agreement for the 2009/2010 regular season.
This morning, the president of Bancaja, José Luis Olivas, and the Director of the Palau de les Arts, Helga Schmidt, renewed with their in-person signature the agreement that Bancaja has maintained with the Palau since 2006.
Through this agreement, Bancaja will once again be the main patron of the artistic entity, contributing one million euros to collaborate financially with the aims and objectives of the Palau, and participating in the promotion of the artistic activity it develops.
According to the president of Bancaja, "the renewal of this agreement represents the continuation of Bancaja's support for an entity that has already become the driving force behind cultural activity in our city, and from which we contribute to the dissemination of cultural events as important as opera, music, dance, and theater."
Bancaja, through its social outreach programs, is committed—among other areas—to supporting cultural activities and the preservation of artistic heritage. This collaboration with the Palau de les Arts continues a series of partnerships with leading institutions in Spain, such as the Auditorio Nacional and the Teatro Real in Madrid; the Palau de la Música and the Teatre del Liceu in Catalonia; and the Palau de la Música in Valencia.
