The Palau de les Arts begins distributing tickets for its Open House concert series

Musicians from the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and singers from the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo will offer a varied and engaging musical program. Those interested in touring the building's different rooms can arrange a guided tour by calling the provided phone numbers.
Valencia (6-10-09).- The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía begins today the distribution of tickets for the different concerts and recitals that the Valencian arts center has programmed for its Open Day, which will be held this coming Sunday, October 11.
The free tickets can be collected from the building's box office during its regular hours, Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., until the venues reach capacity. A maximum of two tickets per person can be collected for one of the concerts in the Aula Magistral and Teatre Martín i Soler, and four tickets for each of the concerts in the Auditori.
The musical program for this Open House will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Aula Magistral with a surprising repertoire that will delight string music lovers, performed by professors from the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana. At 1:00 p.m., in the Teatre Martín i Soler, singers from the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo will offer a recital featuring works by Glière, Poulenc, Delibes, Falla, Villa-Lobos, Miranda, and Bernstein. The musical offerings will continue in the afternoon with another evening of opera featuring compositions by Rossini, Tosti, Puccini, Strauss, Debussy, Ravel, Wagner, and Brahms, also at the Teatre Martín i Soler at 4:00 p.m.
Two concerts at the Auditori will bring this Open House Day to a close. At 6:00 p.m., members of the Palau de les Arts' resident ensemble will perform a wind concert, including Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Nocturne for Winds, Stravinsky's Octet for Winds, and Strauss's Suite for Winds, Op. 4. Finally, at 9:00 p.m., members of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana will perform Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
This year, guided tours of the building will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in groups of 30 people, who will visit the different rooms and spaces of the Palau de les Arts.
