Valencia (10.6.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía closes its symphonic season with one of the most transcendental and appreciated works in the repertoire, Beethoven's 'Ninth', with musical direction by James Gaffigan.

The Cor de la Generalitat and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana thus join the celebrations of the bicentenary of the monumental work of the German composer with a double concert on June 13 at Les Arts and on the 15th at the Auditori de Castelló.

Vasily Petrenko, who was scheduled to return to Les Arts with this concert after his acclaimed debut in 2022 with a demanding program dedicated to the Russian repertoire, has cancelled his appearance due to family reasons.

James Gaffigan, who is currently conducting 'Die Zauberflöte' with great success in the Main Hall, will combine the celebrated performances of Mozart's 'Singspiel' with one of the most anticipated events of the symphonic program, which has had tickets sold out for weeks for its concert in Valencia.

Beethoven's 'Ninth', featuring solo voices by Johanni van Oostrum, Carmen Artaza, Maximilian Schmitt and José Antonio López, will be the culmination of an acclaimed season dedicated to the twilight works of the greatest composers.
