Valencia (27.07.24). The Palau de les Arts will celebrate its 17th Open House on Sunday, September 15, with a wide range of activities, including educational workshops, opera recitals, a symphonic concert, and free tours of the building's various rooms and spaces.
Les Arts will be open that day from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at which time the last groups of visitors will be admitted to freely explore the different spaces, such as the Main Hall, the Auditorium, or the Espai Los Toros, until 7:00 p.m. During their visit, the public will be able to learn about the different activities taking place in the various halls of Les Arts, as well as the main protagonists of the 2024-2025 Season, through audiovisual projections.
Following last year's success, Les Arts will also offer activities this year specially designed for families and younger audiences to experience the theatre for themselves.
On one hand, both the Main Hall Vestibule and the stage of the Master Classroom will have pianos available for anyone who wants to experience their artistic moment in the Calatrava building, while the Espai Los Toros, located on the twelfth floor of the theater, will host two educational workshops.
Staff from the Les Arts technical team and the education department will give two sessions of VestuArts (11:00 and 16:00) and CaracterizaT (12:30 and 17:30), in which the youngest children, and also the adults who accompany them, will be able to learn about the process of creating the characters of an opera through the costumes and all possible elements of characterization.
Les Arts also informs that there will be catering service at different points along the route, where water, soft drinks and snacks can be purchased throughout the day.
Musical program
The musical program of the Open Day will begin at the Teatre Martín i Soler, which will host two performances, at 12:00 and 17:00, of a recital in which the new promotion of singers and pianists from the Centre de Perfeccionament will present themselves to the Valencian public with a repertoire made up of opera pieces and lyrical songs.
The OCV, for its part, will be in charge of closing the day with a symphonic concert that will culminate its September tour, with which it will visit different municipalities of the Valencian Community along with its principal conductor, James Gaffigan.
For his first concert of the season at Les Arts, the American maestro proposes an attractive program, with three works with which to enjoy the excellent sound of the OCV: Beethoven's 'Leonore Overture No. 3', Brahms' 'Third' Symphony and Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Capriccio espagnol'.

Those interested can purchase their tickets starting this week through the theater's website. Tickets are free; only the corresponding administrative fees apply: one euro for the educational workshops, two euros for the Centre de Perfeccionament recitals, and three euros for the OCV concert at the Auditori.
