10.03.2011
Valencia (March 10, 2011) – Pablo González (Oviedo, 1975) will conduct the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana this Saturday, March 12, in a concert featuring works of French Impressionism at the Auditori del Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. Maestro González is considered one of the most important conductors of the new generation.
The maestro from Oviedo will begin the evening with Claude Debussy 's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune , the same work with which he made his debut as principal conductor of the Barcelona Symphony and National Orchestra of Catalonia last year. This will be followed by the second suite from Maurice Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé , one of the first scores by the French composer performed by the Palau de les Arts' resident orchestra under the direction of Lorin Maazel. Ravel's composition Ma mère l' oye, inspired by fairy tales, and the French composer's celebrated Bolero complete the program for this concert.
Since winning the Cadaqués International Conducting Award in 2006, Pablo González has become one of the most sought-after Spanish conductors on the national and international scene.
In addition to his numerous engagements in Spain, he has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the Capitole de Toulouse Orchestra, and the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken-Kaiserslauten Orchestra in recent seasons. He will soon make his debuts with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Swiss Italian Orchestra, and the Liège Philharmonic.
Pablo González has also performed with other prestigious ensembles such as the Liverpool Philharmonic, Tonkünstler, Warsaw Philharmonic, Capitol de Toulouse, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Strasbourg Philharmonic and Winterthur Musikkolegium, among others, in addition to the most important Spanish orchestras.
