– The musical director of the Palau de les Arts, Omer Meir Wellber, addresses the technique of musical direction with Conservatory students in the master meetings that the Valencian coliseum has programmed for the months of January, February and March.
The Israeli maestro combines his work leading the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana with this educational activity which aims to introduce students to the process of preparing a musical rehearsal.
The head of the OCV, who opened the seventh season with Verdi's Rigoletto , and recently conducted with great success Verdi's I due Foscari , with Plácido Domingo in the leading role, is immersed in rehearsals for Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia , the third operatic title for Maestro Wellber in the 2012-2013 Season, whose premiere will take place on February 28.
Prestigious conductors who lead the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana at the Valencian arts center, such as Riccardo Chailly and José Miguel Pérez Sierra, have participated in previous masterclasses.
The Palau de les Arts, through its Educational Program, offers this complementary activity to musical training in Higher Music Education centers, which also allows students to expand their musical repertoire and learn about different orchestral interpretations or instrumental techniques.
