Valencia (21.11.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía welcomes the prestigious British baritone Simon Keenlyside to its 'Les Arts es Lied' cycle on Sunday, November 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Hall.

The London-based artist, who debuted at Les Arts in 2020 with a successful recital, returns with an evening in which he will intersperse 'Lieder' by great authors of the genre such as Schubert, Brahms and Wolf with pages of the French mélodie by Poulenc.

Keenlyside is a regular on the world's great opera stages and is considered one of the most versatile and accomplished performers in the genre. His interpretations range from Lieder and Baroque repertoire to contemporary opera.

For this new visit to Les Arts, he will be accompanied on the piano by Malcolm Martineau, one of the leading repertoire masters in the United Kingdom, indispensable in the recitals of the best performers of the genre.

In its sixth edition, 'Les Arts és Lied' maintains its commitment to the most up-and-coming voices and the great stars of 'Lied' and its sister genres, such as French mélodie, art song or songs in Spanish, Italian or Russian, among others.

The following scheduled recitals feature tenor Michael Fabiano (December 15), baritone Michael Volle (March 23) and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato (June 5).
