Valencia. Plácido Domingo presided over the final phase of auditions to select the sixth class of artists at the Centre de Perfeccionament that bears his name at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.

The project, based at the Teatre Martín i Soler, has received 108 applications from singers of various nationalities. The selection process has attracted the interest of young performers from the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

The Centre de Perfeccionament's activities are aimed at candidates who possess artistic and vocal qualities, a predisposition towards the artistic world, as well as a solid technical preparation that allows for improvement and practical training in an opera house.

The main objective of this high-performance center is to prepare young singers for their professional integration into a lyrical setting through highly qualified training, in order to develop a solid technical, theatrical and cultural foundation of a high level.

The selected students will receive instruction from qualified teachers, attend meetings and masterclasses with orchestra conductors, stage directors, singers, and other artists and professionals involved in the current season's productions and events at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. They will also attend rehearsals for the operas and concerts scheduled as part of the theater's program.
