Valencia (25.11.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía inaugurates its cycle of great voices with the American soprano Sondra Radvanovsky and the Polish tenor Piotr Beczača with a program in which they will perform the best arias and duets of Giacomo Puccini this Tuesday, November 26 in the Auditori (7.30 p.m.).
Les Arts brings together two of the most prestigious Puccini voices on the international scene in the year in which the opera world commemorates the centenary of the death of the composer from Lucca, one of the most appreciated by the Valencian public.
Accompanied by pianist Sarah Tysman, the Les Arts audience will be able to enjoy essential pieces from the operatic repertoire such as 'Vissi d'arte' and 'E lucevan le stelle' from Tosca; 'Che gelida manina' and 'O soave fanciulla' from La bohème or 'Sola, perduta, abbandonata' from Manon Lescaut.
As the closing act of the program, Radvanovsky and Beczača connect Puccini's Romanticism with another work from the Romanticism of the time, 'Rusalka', a masterpiece by Dvořák, from which they will perform some of its most popular fragments and which enjoyed an excellent reception from the public in its first performance at Les Arts last season.
The 'Prince's aria' and the well-known 'Song to the Moon' will close the first session of 'Les Arts és Grans Veus', in which the arts center brings together the great stars of the international circuit and which, in the current season, will also receive the soprano Anna Netrebko (February 16) and the tenor Juan Diego Flórez (May 25).
