Valencia (28.11.24). The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will hold a concert in solidarity with those affected by the flood on December 10, at 7.30 p.m., in the Auditori, where the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, under the direction of Pablo Heras-Casado, will perform Beethoven's 'Egmont Overture' and 'Symphony No. 3'.

The Granada-born conductor has generously offered his services to this initiative, whose proceeds will go entirely towards flood repairs and reconstruction. Tickets will be priced at a single rate of fifteen euros.

In addition, three "Row 0" donations will be made available, and these will be channeled through the solidarity accounts set up by the Generalitat, as well as by the FSMCV (Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community) and Cáritas.

Les Arts proposes for this evening a symphonic program to exalt the heroism of human beings in the face of adversity, with two works with which Ludwig van Beethoven praised these values, the 'Egmont Overture', the incidental music he composed for Goethe's play about the national hero of the Spanish Netherlands, the Count of Egmont, and his 'Third Symphony', known as 'The Eroica'.

This extraordinary concert by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana will also feature the special collaboration of the Schola Cantorum d'Algemesí as a gesture of recognition and solidarity with the Valencian musical community, which was affected by the storm on October 29th. The choral group will open the concert with a selection of works performed a cappella.

Pablo Heras-Casado is one of the Spanish conductors with the closest relationship to the resident orchestra of Les Arts, which he has conducted in memorable symphonic evenings since his first contact in 2013.

He is considered one of the conductors with the greatest international potential. The first Spaniard to premiere a new production at the prestigious Bayreuth Festival and one of the few chosen by the Berlin Philharmonic for its roster of conductors, he combines his international career with an active involvement in charitable endeavors.
