On Sunday, December 21, two morning sessions of this activity are scheduled, open to the public and families.
Valencia. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía is offering this week its most popular educational activity, 'Detectives in the Opera', an initiative within the Didactic Project whose main objective is to introduce young people to the workings and structure of an opera house.
The production of 'Detectives at the Opera' is a collaboration between the Palau de les Arts and the Escuela del Actor (School of the Actor). Premiered in the 2009-2010 season, it was the first production to simultaneously utilize all the spaces of the building.
The children's visit to Santiago Calatrava's building begins with a mystery: Anastasio Galottin, concertmaster of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, has disappeared, and detective Römer Just is searching for him. Rehearsals for the next concert are approaching, and without him, they can't proceed.
The children will have to help the investigator with his mission. To everyone's surprise, the concertmaster has been kidnapped; the perpetrator of this crime is none other than violinist Gilberto Victorio, who wants to seize the top position in the musical ensemble.
Young children, guided by detective Römer Just and following a series of clues, will explore the different spaces and rooms of the Palau de les Arts, learning about the workings and needs of an opera house. The activity includes an educational guide to help them solidify their knowledge of Santiago Calatrava's building.
In total, the Palau de les Arts has scheduled ten educational sessions from Monday, December 15th to Friday, December 19th. On Sunday the 21st, the cultural center has scheduled two family performances, open to the general public, which will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Tickets for 'Detectives at the Opera' are priced at a flat rate of €5 for children and €8 for adults (13 years and over). Sessions are limited to 90 participants, with a maximum of 30 adult places.
