Valencia. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía announces that baritones David Cecconi and Ambrogio Maestri will replace Leo Nucci in the role of Nabucco in Verdi's opera of the same name. The legendary Italian singer has cancelled his Valencia debut due to health reasons.

David Cecconi sings the role of the King of Babylon on Sunday, May 10. Winner of the Mattia Battistini Competition in 2006, the Florentine baritone made his debut in 2007 under the baton of Daniel Oren at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.

A renowned interpreter of the repertoire of Donizetti, Puccini and Verdi, Devid Cecconi develops his career in prominent theaters in Italy and Germany, including the Rome Opera, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Leipzig Opera and the Bayerische Staatsoper.

Nabucco is one of his most requested roles, which he has sung in Eutin, Genoa, Leipzig, Masada, Palermo, and Trieste. His resume includes collaborations with conductors such as Gianandrea Noseda and Renato Palumbo.

Ambrogio Maestri stars in Nabucco on the 12th. The Italian singer is one of the most acclaimed baritones on the international scene, with collaborations with the most prestigious directors and 'registas' of today.

Throughout his career he has been directed by Daniele Gatti, Daniel Harding, Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda, Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Antonio Pappano and Nello Santi in the pit, and by Hugo de Ana, Robert Carsen, Laurent Pelly, Peter Stein, Graham Vick, Bob Wilson and Franco Zeffirelli on stage.

Host at the most prestigious opera houses in the world, he is an essential name in the casts of Berlin, London, New York, Paris and Vienna.

Ambrogio Maestri has sung Nabucco, among others, in the Verona Arena, Milan and also in Munich, in the same Yannis Kokkos production presented by the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.
