Valencia (9.6.25). Antonello Manacorda conducts the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV) in the final program of 'Les Arts és Simfònic' with two essential works from the German repertoire: Anton Brucker's monumental 'Fourth' symphony and Gustav Mahler's moving 'Rückert Lieder', featuring the voice of mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova.
The Turin-born conductor reunites with the resident orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía with this concert, which he will perform on June 12 at the Auditori de Les Arts (7:30 p.m.) and on June 13 at the Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló (7:30 p.m.).
Renowned for his versatility, rich musical and cultural background, as well as for a broad command of the repertoire, Antonello Manacorda is one of the great conductors of the moment and one of the favorite conductors of the Valencian public.
After his previous forays dedicated to Berlioz and Debussy, he delves with the OCV into the work of one of the great symphonists of Romanticism with his imposing 'Fourth Symphony', possibly his best-known piece, in which, under the nickname 'Romantic', Anton Bruckner evokes the medieval spirit reflected by Richard Wagner in 'Lohengrin' or 'Siegfried'.
Mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Gubanova, remembered by the Les Arts audience, among others, for her memorable performances under the direction of Zubin Mehta and Valery Gergiev, lends her voice to the 'Rückert Lieder', a masterpiece of Mahler's lieder production, in which the beauty of the texts of the poet Friedrich Rückert and the music of Gustav Mahler reach heights of extreme lyricism.
The program for this concert also includes another unpublished work for the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, the 'Ricercar' for six voices, belonging to 'Musikalisches Opfer', in the orchestrated version with which Anton Webern pays homage to Johann Sebastian Bach.
Les Arts reminds everyone that tickets for the Antonello Manarcoda concert can be purchased through the theater's various sales channels: box office, the sales line 96 197 59 00 and the Les Arts website.
