The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía begins general ticket sales on Tuesday, June 28, for the shows of the second Pre-season with affordable prices programmed by the arts center.

Five shows make up the 2016 offering, the operas in the Main Hall “L'elisir d'amore”, by Gaetano Donizetti, and “El gato montés”, by Manuel Penella, along with the concerts “Gloria e Imeneo”, “Cantúria cantada” and 'Noves veus'.

For the second year in a row, the rates for opera productions in the Main Hall remain the same, ranging from 7 to 50 euros, with intermediate rates of 15, 20, 28 and 40 euros.

Meanwhile, tickets for concerts at the Auditori range from 10 to 20 euros, while activities programmed at the Teatre Martín i Soler have a single price of 15 euros.

Les Arts' second preseason will begin on October 1 with Donizetti's opera "L'elisir d'amore," which will be performed in Damiano Michieletto's acclaimed production set on La Malvarrosa beach, with Keri-Lynn Wilson in the pit, the second woman to conduct opera in the theater's ten-year history.

Prominent performers such as William Davenport (Nemorino), Paolo Bordogna (Dulcamara), and Mattia Olivieri (Belcore) make up the cast of this work which will be held in the Main Hall on the following days: October 1, 4, 7, 9 and 12.

Spanish opera returns with Valencian Manuel Penella's "El gato montés", which Les Arts is programming to mark the centenary of its premiere at the Teatro Principal in Valencia.

Óliver Díaz, principal conductor of the Teatro de la Zarzuela, will conduct this production, directed by José Carlos Plaza, also for the Teatro de la Zarzuela, and featuring leading singers such as Saioa Hernández, Andeka Gorrotxategi, and Cristina Faus from Valencia. "El gato montés" will be performed on October 30, November 1, 3, and 5.

The Preseason program is complemented by a Vivaldi monograph under the baton of Fabio Biondi, musical director of Les Arts, on October 6 at the Auditori, featuring his works “Gloria e Imeneo” and “Gloria”.

In addition, the Teatre Martín i Soler hosts two other proposals: “Cantúria Cantada”, by Carles Santos, performed by the Cor de la Generalitat, directed by Dolors Ricart on November 10, and an opera gala with the artists of the eighth promotion of the Centre Plácido Domingo, 'Noves veus', directed by Ramón Tebar, principal guest conductor of the opera of Valencia, on the 26th of that month.
