Les Arts expands its guided tours to include rehearsals of “La Traviata”, “Lucrezia Borgia”, “Werther”, and “Tancredi”

27.12.2016

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía opens the rehearsals in the Main Hall to guided tours in anticipation of the upcoming premieres: “La Traviata” by Verdi, “Lucrezia Borgia” by Donizetti, “Werther” by Massenet, and “Tancredi” by Rossini.

This new tour format allows visitors to experience firsthand the work involved in preparing an opera or zarzuela production, as well as explore the different spaces of the building designed by Santiago Calatrava. Tickets, which can be purchased at www.lesarts.com or at the theater box office, cost €15 for the general public and €12 for season ticket holders.

The experience begins with a 30-minute visit to one of the final rehearsals of musicians and artists before the premiere of each production. Visitors, seated in the first-floor boxes of the Main Hall—offering a privileged view—gain firsthand insight into the work that unfolds on stage, as well as witnessing the complexity involved in staging an operatic production.

After the experience, the staff of Les Arts show and explain to visitors the remaining rooms that the theater houses, as well as the corners of special relevance for their views, architecture or activity.

Verdi's "La Traviata," in Sofia Coppola's production with Valentino costumes, is the first of the titles to be revealed on February 2 at 3:15 p.m. It will be followed by new productions of "Lucrezia Borgia," directed by Emilio Sagi, on March 20, and Massenet's "Werther," directed by Jean-Louis Grinda, on May 15. Rossini's "Tancredi" closes the series of offerings for the 2016-2017 Season.

Les Arts reminds visitors that the maximum number of people allowed for these groups is 50 per tour. All guided tours with access to rehearsals begin at 3:15 p.m.
