25.07.2017

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will hold auditions next September for the job pool of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV), the resident orchestra of the cultural venue.

According to the terms of the call for applications, published today in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Government (DOGV), the process will establish a pool of candidates for the Valencian Opera and Ballet (OCV) to cover temporary replacements, absences, and leaves of absence. The pool will be valid for three seasons, extending until the 2019-2020 opera season.

The process, information about which is also available on the Les Arts website, www.lesarts.com , will select musicians for the following instruments: viola, violin, bassoon, flute, trumpet and percussion.

Those interested can submit their application until August 31st, inclusive, through the website http://www.muv.ac/orquestra-de-la-comunitat-valenciana . Muv.ac is a website specializing in managing these types of processes, currently used by more than 100 musical groups. Opera houses such as the Vienna State Opera and the Komische Oper Berlin, as well as ensembles like the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, are users of this portal.

Once the application period has ended, candidates will be pre-selected based on their curriculum vitae and merits. Curriculum evaluation will be based on the following criteria: musical training, prior experience in professional orchestras, awards received, and other merits. Each applicant will receive notification of their acceptance or rejection via the muv.ac platform, using the email address provided in their application.

Les Arts will host the different tests during the second half of September, which will begin on the 15th with the selection for viola, followed by the auditions for flute (16), bassoon (17), trumpet (18), percussion (22) and violin (30).

The auditions will be open to the public until the room where they are held reaches capacity.
