25.07.2017

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will hold auditions next September for the work group of the Valencian Community Orchestra (OCV), the main group of the cultural enclave.

According to the bases of the call, which is published in the 'Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana' (DOGV), the process will regulate the pool that will govern the contracting in the OCV to cover temporary reinforcements, allowances and excesses. The duration of the festival will be three seasons and will last until the 2019-2020 lyrical year.

The process, information about which is also available on the main Les Arts website, www.lesarts.com , will select music for the following instruments: viola, violin, bassoon, flute, trumpet and percussion.

Interested parties may submit their application by the end of August 31, inclusively, through the web portal http://www.muv.ac/orquestra-de-la-comunitat-valenciana . Muv.ac is a website specialized in the management of these types of processes currently used by more than 100 musical groups. Opera theaters with the Staatsoper in Vienna and the Komische Oper in Berlin, as well as formations with the Gewandhaus Orchester in Leipzig, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra or the Tonhalle in Zurich are users of this portal.

At the end of the deadline for submitting applications, it is difficult to finalize the preselection of the candidates by resume and merits. The curricular evaluation is based on the following parameters: musical training, previous experience in professional orchestras, awards obtained and other merits. Each applicant will receive, through the email specified in the registration form, a notification regarding whether or not they have been admitted, from the muv.ac platform.

The Arts will perform during the second fortnight of September the different performances, which will begin on the 15th with the selection for viola, which will be followed by auditions for flute (16), bassoon (17), trumpet (18), percussion (22) and violin (30).

The auditions will be public in order to fill the capacity of the room in which they are performed.
