17.09.2017

On September 24, the Palau de Les Arts celebrates the opening of the open door day, which marks the beginning of artistic activity in the theater.

The Arts will open this day from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when the last group that decides to tour the facilities of the building designed by Santiago Calatrava will access. The public will be able to visit, uninterruptedly, the most emblematic spaces with the Main Hall, the Terrasses dels Palmeres or the Balcó de la Mar, with a view of the entire City of Arts and Sciences.

The tour is only conditioned by the celebration of the different shows included in the offer of this day. Interested persons can also check out the cafeteria service during their stay at Les Arts, both on the first floor of the building, both facing the Jardí del Túria, and on the eleventh floor, in the Los Toros Space.

The ticket offices open these days for all people who wish to acquire locations for the purposes of the preseason, with rates between 7 and 50 euros. On October 5, Les Arts begins the third preseason with popular performances, which includes two operas, 'Madama Butterfly', by Puccini, and 'Le cinesi', by Gluck, together with the dance show 'El amor brujo: el foc i la paraula' and the concerts 'Petite Messe Solennelle', 'Música Aquàtica' and 'Noves Veus'. Visitors will also be able to obtain information about the campaign for new subscriptions for the 2017-2018 season, which will begin with the release of Verdi's 'Don Carlo', with Plácido Domingo with the main star.

The artists of the new promotion of the Center Plácido Domingo and the Orchestra of the Valencian Community (OCV) complement the offer of the opening day with a concert and two free recitals.

The Teatre Martín i Soler hosts two sessions, at 12:00 p.m. and at 5:00 p.m., of a show based on the different opera titles that make up the 2017-2018 season. In this way, the artists of the Plácido Domingo Center will perform a review of works such as 'Il corsaro', by Verdi; 'Tosca', by Puccini, or 'La clemenza di Tito', by Mozart.

Jordi Bernàcer, the first Valencian to direct opera at the Main Hall of Les Arts, will be in charge of closing the day of open performances with a concert at the Auditori, at 7:00 p.m. The Valencian Community Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Alcoià, offers a program with the overture to the opera 'Genoveva', by Schumann; 'Variations on a Theme of Haydn', by Brahms; 'Pavana per a deceased infanta', by Ravel, and 'L'ocell de foc', by Stravinsky.

Les Arts reminds interested persons that it is essential to apply for admission to be able to watch these shows. For this purpose, the cultural enclave has established a calendar of telematic and in-person distribution for subscribers and the general public.

The arts center reserves for its subscribers 30% of the venue locations for each activity: 444 tickets to the Auditori and 114 tickets for each pass to the Teatre Martín i Soler. The online request for invitations for this group can be made on December 20, starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 11:59 p.m. in the apartment enabled on the theater's website. On the other hand, the in-person application will take place on December 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or until the assigned quota is exhausted.

The general public was given a quota of 65% of the venue locations for each activity: 962 tickets to the Auditori and 247 tickets per session to the Teatre Martín i Soler. 60% of the invitations for this group will be distributed through the website on September 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., or until the available tickets are issued. The remaining 40% can be requested in person at the ticket offices starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m., or at the end of the available tickets.
